When temperatures jump from 5 to 25 degrees it is time for the light jacket. Something to throw over when cooler evenings surprise us and to easily fold in our bags or wear over the shoulders when we soak up that first lunch time vitamin D. Light jackets are a wardrobe staple and layers always add a certain depth to an an outfit.
Light jackets are multiverse. They can add a proper, quirky, classic, urban, playful, or other vibe to a basic outfit. They’re available in cotton, jeans, wool, and other materials and many different styles which might be the reason they are an all time fashion staple. Likewise they suit anyone as they’re available in many different shapes. And because too much variety can be overwhelming, let’s take a deep dive on what is out there, what we might already have, and the many – many – styling options.
Classic light jackets
There are a few options for a classic look as light jackets have been around for a minute. Pair a jean jacket or light blazer with a summery look. Like a top and jeans in ivory from Tôteme, a Saint Laurent belt, and Onitsuka Tiger sneakers. Style the look with your favorite bag, and some personal jewelry.

Casual light jackets
Leather jackets have been a part of the casual and urban wardrobe. Try new colors and shades and style them in a laidback back look with a graphic T from Ganni, jeans from Frame, and sneakers from Chloé. Style the look with your favorite shoulder bag as they will hold perfectly on the jacket’s stiff shoulders and bring out a 90s vibe.

Weekly inspiration
The days are getting longer – and sunnier. So maybe it’s time for a little preparation. This weekly’s inspiration is a little guide of my favorite sun protection: SPF in daily moisturizers are easily included into a morning routine. Moisturizing sunscreen and after sun can be used just like body lotion. Sticks and sprays are great for reapplying on the go. And light weight hair oil with UV protection are great for after styling and/or before swimming.
