Holiday season is on! Weather that means beach, pool, or the occasional lake visit during the weekend. It’s time for easy slides, cover-ups, new bikinis, sun hats and everything else the pool outfits section has to offer. To be best prepared for a dip in the cold water, a drink at the bar, and a book on the bench, a layered breezy outfit is what we reach for.
Mid June is usually the last mile before the summer break. The break feels so close that you can almost smell the sunscreen on our skin and feel the drink in our hand. Most of us have booked our flights and accommodation, so the days are counting down. And it also always means rushing through final work obligations, getting your place ready for some absence, and – of course – packing. The upside on packing for summier vacations is for sure that the pieces are lighter. The downside can be the pressure of making sure you brought your best summery outfits and have all occasions covered. Last week’s post covered evening outfits, make sure to read it here if you want to check of dinner outfits of your packing list.
Classic pool outfits
This classic style will take you from season to season. It’s timeless and versatile. The bikini and the linen button down are a look just as much as the bikini and the shorts. The Marant Etoile shopper will hold everything and anything and is made of canvas, so it’ll be fine getting a little wet. The Vivienne Westwood bucket hat and the Saint Laurent sunglasses will protect you throughout the day. Add slides in black, brown, navy, or metallic.

Elegant pool outfits
For an elegant look while laying out and spending time at the pool side a bathing suit is a great pick. You’ll be able to style this in many different ways, with linen pants, skirts – and grouches dresses. The raffia version from Havaianas is a great option for a realistic (because the sole is still plastic and won’t mind water), yet elegant pool slide. Add a panama hat from Loewe, a raffia bag from Saint Laurent, and sunglasses from Celine.

Casual pool outfits
Finally, it’s time to relax, read a book, take a nap mid day, or cure a hangover. This casual outfit will be for you. Pair denim shorts with a bohemian bikini and a cap. Then, style it with a print t-shirt from Ganni, pool slides from Birkenstock, and a summery bracelet from Bimba Y Lola. Add your favorite pair of sunglasses and a a tote, or raffia bag.

Playful pool outfits
There is a certain funk or 80s vibe about pools when you think about it. Maybe luxurious pools were becoming more popular in the 80s. However, one 80s trend goes hand in hand with pool styles till today: it’s pastels. Likewise it can be pool or ocean motives. So this Versace set with a bikini, a button down, and a shorts, will not only support the most fun you ever head by a pool, but also make a variety of outfits when styled separated. Add simple Havaianas, your favorite sunglasses, and a casual tote bag to accessorize.

Weekly inspiration
There are more and more cruise shows which is a real blessing since it will be a while until the next fashionweeks. Last week Valentino showed its Resort collection which was light, playful, and powerful at the same time. It was directed by Alessandro Michele and presented in a traditional look book manner.
