According to astrology, the most confident people are born in Leo season. Leo season lasts between July 24th and August 23rd. So we‘re right in the middle of Leo season. So it‘s the perfect time for a little fashionable confidence boost. And what better occasion to bring out a classic: animal prints. More specific, Leo prints to match the season.
Astrology and star sign myths are as old as time. Although never really gone, the topic got a new hype over last couple of years. And since we‘re right in the middle of one of the most confident and extroverted signs, what better time to dig into the topic of animal prints. The Leo print has reached almost the level of popularity as the topic of astrology within the last year. And in true fashion manner, it‘s reinvented, refreshed, and represented with many new shapes and styling options.
Animal prints: classic Leo styles
To style Leo in a more timeless and therefor classic way, stick a good basic piece with Leo print. This could be a t-Shirt, jeans, or a classic shoe like a pump. So for example, style a pair of Ganni jeans with a Tôteme shirt, classic Tod‘s loafers, and an Aesther Ekme Shoulder bag. With these basic and clean pieces, the Leo pants will remain the highlight of the look. Add a black player or cashmere sweater in fall and go light on the jewelry, like with small diamond studs.
Animal prints: elegant Leo styles
Shoes, Accessoires, or outfit details will give your outfit a wild elegance when styled with subtle colors like burgundy, navy, grey, khaki, or off-white. So for this elegant look, pair Gianvito Rossi kitten heels with gray Valentino pants, an off-white waistcoat from Cos, and a maxi clutch in burgundy from Bottega Veneta. The subtle pop of Leo print will give you room to play with bigger jewelry like organically formed bangles.
Animal prints: casual Leo styles
For a casual look in Leo, turn to leggings, bike shorts, Pyjama Style pants or sweaters. To channel but don’t go full costume, try to avoid adding other 80s, 90s, or even Y2K pieces. Simply add a graphic t-shirt from Anine Bing, some Birkenstocks, and a bandana from Barrie to Max Mara pants. Add a tote or crossbody bag and wear your everyday jewelry.
Animal prints: playful Leo styles
Being playful with prints can be as challenging as it can be fun. Don’t be afraid of mixing different prints like we see famously on Scandinavian or Portuguese influencers. Start with a voluminous skirt by Oscar de la Renta and then add a striped button down by Michael Kors Collection. Give it a preppy twist with a silk scarf from Valentino Garavani and ballerinas from Manolo Blahnik. Add a tote bag, maybe some quirky jewelry or a hair clip.

Speaking of prints, Copenhagen Spring Summer 25 Fashionweek just took place showing colorful runways with strong and unique designs. Marimekko’s flower prints are as much a USP of her designs as they are a contribution to the international art scene. Pure nostalgia!
