Of course belts belong to any good accessories collection. But for the last few runway seasons they have been more in focus as a piece that defined the look. As the natural circle of fashion trends will be stronger and weaker and the focus on shifts. However belts are a fashion accessory that it is worth looking into. They shape the body and can add a sense of sophistication to a rather basic outfits. So outfits with belts are worth looking into as belts can be valuable investment pieces for your wardrobe.
Belts have had their moments in fashion. They develop along the shapes that are in fashion and went from small waistline belts on pencil skirts to big statement pieces on low waist pants in the 2000s. So it’s not necessarily the belt that simply changes, it’s the outfits with belts that transform over time. And even in times when they weren’t a trend focus, they accompanied our wardrobes and elevated out looks in a more subtle way.

To style them in a classic look by wearing them with a short sleeved knit in navy from Max Mara, relaxed high waisted jeans from Frame, a matching Hardware bracelet from Tiffany’s, and a pair of white ballet flats from Miu Miu. Add your favorite cross-body or shoulder bag, preferably matching the leather and hardware color of your belt.

For an elegant outfit a bolder belt is your best bet. This could mean an interesting pattern, statement buckle, or a vintage choice. Tie it around a shirt dress from Matteau to accentuate the waist.
