Sunglasses are the ultimate accessory everyone agrees on. For some they are a practical gadget, for others they are the piece that will make or break their outfit. And although they are an all-year-rounder, they definitely peak once the days get longer. All the more reason to look into how sunglasses aesthetics have developed over the last century, iconic sunglasses moments in pop culture and the options to choose from for our personal wardrobe for the upcoming season.
The first time sunglasses are mentioned was in the late 1700s. Then they were first mass produced in the early 1900s. So it’s fair to say that their way into fashion wasn’t exactly a jump start. However, things turned around quickly after Second World War when especially US soldiers were started wearing them for practical reasons. What followed was the spotting of movie stars who had included sunglasses into their style. After that sunglasses quickly started to become a defining piece of the fallowing fashion eras in which the over all sunglasses aesthetics played a major role.
