This week: NYC Fashionweek SS 2025
Halloween movies
It’s spooky season – and that means candy, couch, and a some good movies that get you in that Halloween spirit. So this week’s inspiration is an oldie but goldie. “Practically magic” is the story of two sisters who grow up with all the problems a modern life can bring – but they’re witches, of course.

Gilmore Girls
This week‘s inspiration is the original TV series ‚Gilmore Girls‘. Located in Stars Hallow with plenty of quirky yet lovable neighbors, the young mother Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter Rory experience romantic relationships, female bonds, family challenges, and the pain of growing up.
Business of fashion
BOF – the business of fashion – has an amazing instagram account to keep you up to date on the latest news of the business side of fashion. You can keep up with the newest role changes of designers, CEOs, and others. It’s informative and one of the first platforms to share insides.
Brandawareness
End fashionmonth with a little impression that almost feels like a voice message from a friend. Brenda Hashtag (real name Brande Weischer) is famous for her strictly black and white aesthetic and her profound knowledge about the fashion industry. Her podcast is light, inside-full on fashion and creator business, and her snack-able.
Gucci Runway soundtrack
Bring Milan Fashionweek Spring Summer 2025 to your home with Gucci’s runway playlist. This is a genius Idee. Gucci summarized all the songs playing for the runway presentation in a Spotify playlist.
Nessie Dojaka X Calvin Klein
How could this be more fitting for London Fashionweek? Nensi Dojaka is an Albanian-born London based designer who brought a special delicate sexiness to the fashion world. With her playful yet minimal designs she regularly wows during London Fashionweek. And this season she surprised everyone with a collaboration with the underwear brand number one; Calvin Klein. This mix of sexy and casual is what we need for fall.

While series and pop culture are having an ‘Emily in Paris’ moment it’s time to give the list of movies with exzeptionell fashion moments a shout-out.
You’ll find Classics like Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Sex and City, along personal recommendations like ‘The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story’.
Emilia on Paris Season 4 episodes 1-5 ire available on Netflix. Episodes 6-10 will be available by September 12th.
Movie night: fashion in film and its influence
Marimekko
Speaking of prints, Copenhagen Spring Summer 25 Fashionweek just took place showing colorful runways with strong and unique designs. Marimekko’s flower prints are as much a USP of her designs as they are a contribution to the international art scene. Pure nostalgia!
Snoop Dogg
The Olympics are still in full effect. And whether you’re actually following the sports or just enjoy the entertainment side of things, Snoop Dogg cannot be missed. The rapper got sent to the Olympics to cover and entertain for the US. And he’s doing beyond well as he is the main character in many news. So Vogue checked in with him to get some ‘inside my bag for the 2024 Olympics’ details
Rita Ora
During summer we can kind of forget about our skin care routine. Between sunscreen and the pool it can be hard to find a few moments to circle back on your routines. This is your friendly reminder – brought to you by Vogue and Rita Ora.
Olympics 2024
The fashion way of participation: With the upcoming Olympics in Paris, sneaker brands have launched sneakers especially for the occasion. So this week’s inspiration are sneakers. You can easily pair them with your summer dresses and keep wearing them throughout the year.

One blog post is simply not enough to show the many options for comfy summers. So here are some honorable mentions and special picks.

Haute Couture Week Fall 2024
This week’s inspiration is Couture. She shows of Paris Haute Couture Week Fall 2024 were so unique, so inspiring, that they must be experienced.
Style SOS
Kay Barren is Net-A-Porter’s fashion director and regularly publishes Style SOS videos on YouTube addressing on fashion ‘problem’ at the time. She has a really good unique style but somehow manages to address everyone.
Vogue World
Vogue world has been introduced some time ago. And it’s been developing beautifully. It combines fashion, entertainment, and pop culture by having fashion shows with equal focuses on fashion and on the ‘show’. You can spot plenty of celebrity cameos, an integration of music, and smaller acting parts that really highlight the soul of the fashion pieces. One of my favorite parts was Serena Williams for Off-White.
Valentino Resort Collection
There are more and more cruise shows which is a real blessing since it will be a while until the next fashionweeks. Last week Valentino showed its Resort collection which was light, playful, and powerful at the same time. It was directed by Alessandro Michele and presented in a traditional look book manner.
Louis Vuitton Cruise Collection
Thank god for Cruise shows. This one especially. Louis Vuitton did another round and showed the houses’s Cruise collection in Barcelona in the astonishing park Guell.
Dior Cruise Collection
Not only summer break is upon us. Fashionweek is also around the corner. So Cruise shows let us slowly but sure get back in our fashion game and inspire us for off season outfits. Dior is traditionally a house who puts in extra effort for its Cruise show.
Pedicure
For a night out on heels a pedicure is the essential preparation. Whether you’re ging to the salon or do a quick polish at home a good set of foot care should be part of any bathroom cabinet.
Cannes
The film festival in Cannes is always a special red carpet treat. Besides the red carpet the cinematic festival at the Côte d’Azure contains plenty of press events combining day ware with classic red carpet events. Another plus is the summery beach side location which always influences the fashion.
Gucci Cruise Collection
It’s cruise show season! And this means unusual show locations, settings and collections dedicated to mid seasons. Cruise seasons tend to come with a special effort on set design which makes them especially fun to watch. Gucci showed this year’s cruise collection in London. I especially loved the focus on leather and the tribute to the brand’s iconic bags and suits.

Met Gala
This week is Met gala week. Every year in the beginning of Mai, Vogue invites cultural influencers to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The red carpet is special in two ways. 1. The red carpet is part of the museum and therefore pure stairs surrounded by the historical venue. 2. It is the most extra red carpet fashion there is. So Vogue’s look back on the best Met gala looks is a real internet treasure.
SPF Guide
The days are getting longer – and sunnier. So maybe it’s time for a little preparation. This weekly’s inspiration is a little guide of my favorite sun protection: SPF in daily moisturizers are easily included into a morning routine. Moisturizing sunscreen and after sun can be used just like body lotion. Sticks and sprays are great for reapplying on the go. And light weight hair oil with UV protection are great for after styling and/or before swimming.
Rita Montezuma
She’s a Lisbon bound influencer and most famous for her bold quirky colorful styles. Her looks are unique and make you dream of summer, traveling, and exploring right away.
Giggly squad
Hannah Berner is a – relatively – new comedian. Her Netflix special is set for later this year. On her podcast ‘Giggly squad’ she is joined by Paige Desorbo and the two are simply fun to listen to. Relatable as they are, they’ve recently put out a video of ‘What’s in our bags?’ showing the inside of their everyday bags including tampons and the clutter we all carry around in our bags everyday. An internet treat!
Call her daddy
he most popular female hosted podcast ‘Call her daddy’ has been online for around five years. It’s gone from room mate chats to A-list celebrity interviews. One of my favorites is the interview with Gwyneth Paltrow. It’s open, casual, and gives inside on Gwyneth’s past relationships and more.
Mini plants
The days are longer and spring is upon us. While we’re waiting to store the winter coats in the closet our apartments rarely change with the season. So this week’s inspiration are tiny little plant pots that will invite spring into your home. Either you can start seeding plants that will later make it outside, or if you’re sticking to the robust cactus gardening. The adorable little pots from Bea (found via Jotex) put anyone in a good spring mood.
Assouline
In the manner of this week’s homage to France, this week’s corresponding inspiration is the French book manufacture ‘Assouline’. Besides the maison’s wonderful contributions about designers, jewelers, artists, or culinary excursions, the ‘travel from home’ collection is the most dreamy, astonishing collection of photographs and insides from special places to visit around the globe. It’s more then a coffee table book because its a true experience.
Jennifer Lopez
Besides her main profession as a singer she’s left her mark as an icon in pop culture. With her privat life, with her fashion, with her never aging appearance, with her booty, her dance skills, a Vegas show, and of course her fashion. Her green deep v-neck high slit floral Versace dress is probably one of the most referenced rep carpet looks of all times (shown right). So it feels long overdue to take a look at her fashion evolution more closely which is exactly what Vogue did an its series ‘Life in looks’.
Oscar Fashion
This post comes out shortly after the Oscars 2024. And since the last years have been somewhat turbulent in the film industry with the raise of streaming platforms and series, misbehavior from attendees, and the writer’s strike, this year’s came with plenty of built up. The event however was entertaining and exciting. So rewatch the season’s highlights, get inspired to watch movies you might have missed – and make sure to recap the red carpet looks on Vogue.
Illustrations
This week’s inspiration is a little motivation to get creative yourself. Paper and pen are easy to grab, coloring relaxes the mind, and if you’re lucky you will end up with something you’re really proud of.
Ganni x Mejuri
Ganni is known to be the new Scandinavian superstar and has successfully released brand cooperations in the past. Such as Barbour, Levi’s, or Ace & Tate. The newest addition is a collection with Mejuri, a sustainable luxury brand. The result is to die for. The collection features heavy hardware style jewelry with dainty shamrock motives.
J.W.Anderson
Fall 2024
Today we also look into London Fashion. Although London’s fashion scene calmed down a little over the last years, it is still the home of some of the most relevant designers. Just think Alexander McQueen or Vivienne Westwood. J.W. Anderson showed his newest Collection during London Fashionweek Fall 2024 and the witty designs have once again excited the fashion world.
City trips
This week’s inspiration are weekend getaways. More specifically, Emma Chamberlain’s videos from city trips. They’re inspiring and give a glimpse into the destination. The videos feature coffee shops, thrift stores, art and more. Get ready to dream of wanderlust and packing your bag and your bestie.
Julia Roberts
The actress joined Vogue’s series ‘My life in looks’ and gives a glimpse into her fashion evolution. From outfits she wore early in her career without the help of a stylist to photo shootings with Riccardo Tisci the vide gives a look behind the curtain. She also explains her love for suits and the models she wore throughout the years. It’s a complete walk down memory lane and you will want t watch her movies after watching this video.
Jacquemus Spring Summer 2024
Shortly after Couture Week Jacquemus presented its newest collection in the South of France. The brand is known to not participate in Fashionweek as their collections aren’t tied to any buying or seasonal circle. Although it’s a little controversial in the fashion world, the brand is represented in most high fashion department and online stores. I personally adore their presentations and the lightness that always makes me dream of bougie summer vacations.
Pharrell for Louis Vuitton at Men’s Fashionweek Fall Winter 2024
Pharrell’s collection for Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2024 was one of the highlights during Paris Men’s Fashionweek last week. It references plenty of Western style elements which is something we also could have seen during NYC Fashionweek Spring Summer 2024 on the Ralph Lauren runway. Is this an indication for an upcoming western trend?
Scented candles
This week’s inspiration are home sentences. From scented candles to candle accessories to burning incenses – there is a magic to home sentences that they add t your place. Weather it becomes a familiar sentence or reminds you of something like a holiday, a place, or a person. And the mood a candle adds t a room is pure coziness. Here is are a few recommendations, everything is linked.
Vogue:
coloring book
This week is a grown-up girlie’s dream. Vogue has released a coloring book. And it will make you wind down in the most stylish way. With fashion insides and real Vogue photographies this coloring book is a real talent. It works as a conversation starter, adds inspiration, feeds your fashion interest, makes a great gift and home decor. Highly recommended!
Journaling
In the manner of healthy habits, this weekly’s inspiration is journaling. In our fast paced world, journaling can sometimes help finding a moment of silence and focus. It can free our minds, clear or remind us of important thoughts, relive or manifest feelings, moments, achievements, or emotions. As every habit, finding a place for it in your routine is key. It is not a matter of every day, every night before bed, or as monthly recaps or forecasts. It is a matter of importance in the big picture. Here a few regulations of different journal starters.
A walk
This week’s inspiration is a simple walk. Rarely anything frees the mind and makes more space for new thoughts and inspiration like a day outside. To give a little motivation, find an overview of the trusty companions that will support your day outside and help you make the most out of it. All products are linked.
Books
This week, I recommend Xenia Adonts’ YouTube video about her 7 books in 7 days challenge. She is know to be one of the most successful fashion influencers for over a decade and the ones who follow her on Social Media will know, she also loves reading. Maybe the challenge inspires you, maybe one of the books sounds like a great read you. However, this book and challenge presentation overall is truly inspiring.
Department stores
This week’s inspiration are department stores. More importantly, department stores pre Christmas. Strolling through a department store in December really puts me in the Christmas spirit the second I enter them. It’s the peek of the year for the decoration and the entire place gives off this unique Christmas energy. It’s the excitement you felt as a child when Christmas and the new year were approaching.
So I curated a short list with recommendations.
Germany
Berlin: KaDeWe
Hamburg: Alsterhaus
Munich: Oberpollinger
Italy
Rome and Milan: La Rinacente
France
Paris: Le Bon Maché
Marceille: Printemp
Nice: Gallerie Lafayette
UK
London: Harrod’s and Selfridges
Tamara Kalinic
This week’s inspiration is blogger Tamara Kalinic. Watching her career and style developing is truly inspiring. She usually publishes new YouTube blogs every Wednesday and Sunday. But every year before Christmas, she counts down the 24 days with a daily Vlogmas blog. It’s now life on YouTube.
The Obama Women
This week’s inspiration is the style evolution of the Obama women. Ever since they left the White House, the Obama women have truly transformed their style. Except Michelle Obama, they don’t have known social media accounts. Since paparazzi are still fallowing them around and they sometimes still attend public events, you will be able to find some pictures of them. I put together a little collection of Michelle, Sasha, and Malia. I find their style simple, cool, edgy, and very unique.
Sarah Lysander
This week’s inspiration is the UK fashion blogger Sarah Lysander. Already established in the fashion and the food community on Instagram, she has started her YouTube blog a few months back. Her style is unique, approachable and perfect for the life in a big city. The videos are calm and a perfect watch for something during home office lunch or on the train.
Pamela Anderson
This week’s inspiration is Pamela Anderson. She sends out a journal entry every Monday which you can subscribe by via newsletter. It’s an easy, optimistic read that supports a growth and acceptance mindset. It’s personal, reliable and the right dose of freshness for the the start of the week. Growing up in the 90s, she was omnipresent. She was loved and hated from the media and dominated them with her personal journey. So, it’s a little nostalgic but also a push of optimism and strength, to fallow her unique story – finally in her own words.
Book recommendation
This week‘s inspiration circles back to the activities we pick up on again once fall has arrived. When the weather doesn‘t allow to spend time outside, we visit museum to get some cultural input. In preparation of that time or to bring culture to our homes, we cuddle up on the couch and watch movies or read. Bring the museum home with ‚Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst, und das ist Kunst‘. A witty and easy read with stories behind popular art pieces throughout history. This book is a perfect in-between-read when you don‘t want to commit to a long story and it also makes a great gift.
Movie night
Watch over ten trailers about fashion in film. From classics to coming of age or muses, get inspired with the right movie and the right genre for a perfect night to stay in during this darker season.
Space
This week’s inspiration is a little controversial and for sure out of this world. Nasa recently announced that no one else than Italian fashion house PRADA is designing their space suits for the 2025 mission. What might sound like a joke to some people, actually makes sense when you really think about it. PRADA is the inventor of the nylon material after all. At least I cannot wait to see what that very specific collaboration will bring.
In the spirit of that unique alley, this week’s recommendation is the movie ‘Hidden figures’. It is not only a reference to Nasa and of course its space missions, it is also a great movie about equal rights. Not enough, it has a great soundtrack, the performance is outstanding and the set and costume design is amazing. A great profile of a moment in history, culture, and a nostalgic throwbacks to the 60s.
Viktoria Beckham
In the spirit of the present hype around Netflix’ BECKHAM which I also recommend, I rewatched Viktoria Beckham’s Life in looks video for Vogue. It is so much fun to see the style evolution, some great through-backs, and of course her present looks
Louis Vuitton [EXTENDED] Podcats
Take a look behind the curtain of Louis Vuitton with its new podcast with [EXTENDED] hosted by French journalist Loïc Prigent. Loïc Prigent has famously filmed with Karl Lagerfeld and Jean-Paul Gaultier and worked with Vogue France, as well as Vanity Fair France.
